Home Health Aide

The Home Health Aide course is taught in conjunction with the CNA course as outlined above. Graduates of the program will receive a Home Health Aide license in addition to their CNA license which will allow them to become enrolled in nursing registries that will dispatch them to patients’ homes or various other facilities and domiciles. A person must be a CNA in order to obtain their HHA license.

HHA I: INTRODUCTION TO HOME HEALTH, MEDICAL AND SOCIAL NEEDS

Students are instructed in the roles of the Home Health agent and agency. Medical and social needs are also addressed in detail.

HHA II: PERSONAL CARE SERVICES AND NUTRITION

Students are instructed in personal care services such as home care, rehabilitation, emergency care in addition to basic principles of diet and meal planning.

HHA III: HOUSEHOLD MANAGEMENT, PATIENT CARE PROCEDURES

Students must demonstrate proficiency in cleaning and home care as well as all patient care procedures performed in the home under normal and extraordinary circumstances.
