Student Services

Counseling

Students experiencing academic or any other kind of distress are encouraged to seek counseling from assigned staff and faculty who are equipped to provide guidance. Should the student prefer, these staff and faculty can provide referrals to other programs or organizations that are better suited to be of assistance.

Tutoring

Tutoring is made available to any student on an as-needed basis. Specific tutorial services for class material are provided by the student’s regular instructor. Should there be a conflict, arrangements may be made for another instructor to assume tutorial duties. Whenever possible, tutoring will be provided at the student’s scheduled class time, usually during one of the break times. Otherwise, the student and the instructor are responsible for scheduling a time when there is no conflict. The amount of tutoring will depend on the need of the student as determined by the instructor.

Transportation

A variety of public transportation is available immediately outside the building in which the school is located. Students are also encouraged to involve in ride share or carpooling.

Reference Materials

Central Nursing College maintains a wide variety of reference materials and publications to aid in furthering comprehension of coursework. The library houses books, journals, magazines, as well as audio and video instructional aides. Students are encouraged to take advantage of these resources while on school premises.

There is a limited lending-library system.

Job Placement

Central Nursing College emphasizes job placement and retention in all of its programs. As such, the school has cultivated a solid reputation for near-perfect job placement. In the pursuit of maintaining these high standards, Central Nursing College employs a method of intensive career counseling including resume assistance services, job skills workshops, and regular assessments.

Additionally, once a student is introduced to an employer and submits an application, Central Nursing College job developers consistently follow-up on progress or changes relating to their future employment there.

All students are provided with referrals to various employers, and assigned interview dates and times. Although this is a service available to all, those students who wish to be employed at a facility of their own choosing, for whatever reason, are permitted to do so, provided they submit information including name of employer, phone number and contact person. Should this desired position be unavailable at the time of application, the student is still allowed to obtain referrals from the job developers.

Retention of Records

All student records are maintained for a minimum of seven years in well guarded, locked cabinets.

Grievance Procedures

Any complaints regarding the school and/or any of the school’s practices, faculty or staff may be directed to any of the upper-level management officials of Central Nursing College who will meet with the student or students and attempt to formulate a response or otherwise remedy the situation in a judicious and timely manner.

Central Nursing College also recommends the student notify the Bureau for Private Post-secondary and Vocational Education (BPPVE) or the Board for Vocational Nurses and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT) with any complaints or concerns. The addresses follow:
